When you flatten a PDF document, you're combining and merging all the layers of the document into a single layer.
This removes the interactivity and means forms or check boxes will on longer be fillable, but it also reduces the file size of the PDF, which can be vital for certain needs.
To flatten a PDF document:
- In PDF Pro, click on the "Create" tab, then press "Flatten file".
- If you have not already saved, you'll be prompted to do so at this point.
- A dialogue box will open, allowing you to specify settings such as location of new file and additional flattening options. Once satisfied with your settings, click "Create".
